(Re-)Meet Emma Getty, RP (Qualifying) Intern: Combining Yoga, Breathwork and Neuroscience to Support You!

Today we’re sharing more with you about a member of our team who might be a familiar face. Emma Getty is with us at GWTC as a secondary practicum site for her Masters in Counselling Psychology degree, and is also a member of our intake & administration team! If you’ve been in touch with our front desk you may have crossed paths with her, and today we’re getting to know her clinical side.

What led you to becoming a therapist?

I have a background in human behaviour and neuroscience which sparked my interest in this field.

What would you say to someone who is nervous about starting therapy?

This is completely normal! Reaching out can be daunting, but at GWTC we are here to support you through this process. I would recommend writing down any questions you might have to feel more prepared, connecting with friends who have tried therapy to hear about their experiences, and booking a consultation with the therapist to ensure a good fit before starting.

What's your favourite way to spend a weekend?

I love exploring the city and trying new cafes or restaurants.

Do you have a favourite quote?

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’” Mary Anne Radmacher

What are you looking forward to the most about doing your practicum with Growth & Wellness?

Expanding my knowledge and skills by connecting with clients and our community!

What's something you want people to know about you?

I love practicing yoga and breathwork and will often incorporate these skills into my work with clients.

If you’d like to know more about Emma and her approach to therapy or would like to book a free 15 minute consult with her, you can reach out to our office. You can also view her full profile here!
