I’ve never been to therapy before, what can I expect?

Insurance Coverage

The services of our therapists may be covered by your extended health benefits, though they are not covered by OHIP. We do not file insurance claims but we can provide you with a detailed receipt to seek reimbursement from your insurance plan. Please confirm the designation of the professional you plan to see and then check with your insurance company to ensure you have coverage for reimbursement. Many plans cover the services of Registered Social Workers and Registered Psychotherapists.

Useful questions to ask your insurance provider are:

  • Do you cover Registered Social Workers/Registered Psychotherapists/Life Coaches?

  • How much am I covered for?

  • What is the maximum amount per session am I covered for?

  • Is the coverage for a calendar year or a fiscal year?


Fees

Each therapist is set at an individual rate and has their own policies regarding sliding fee options. Services are usually between $145 and $160 for a individual 50 minute psychotherapy session, with fees going higher for family or couples sessions. Intern sessions are priced at $40. Massage treatments and reiki services are priced based on the duration of the service. Please reach out to your therapist directly for clarification or email us at the office with your question and the name of the therapist or service whose costs you would like to know more about. You can review all of our office policies by clicking here. Your therapist may have some of their own additional policies so be sure to inquire during intake if you have any questions or concerns.


Accessibility

We regret to share that currently our office is not completely accessible, with stairs required to both enter the building and to access the group space on the second floor. If you would like to access our services but need mobility supports please reach out to us or your therapists directly to discuss options. Some clinicians offer alternatives like Walk and Talk Therapy or Home Visits.


Professions

Our team is made up of professionals from a variety of academic backgrounds. Clinicians with their MSW RSW are Registered Social Workers with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, clinicians with RP are Registered Psychotherapists with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario [Clinicians who are labelled RP(Q) are Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying) which means they are still doing their clinical hours towards their full designation], clinicians identified as Coaches or Counsellors are registered with various Canadian accreditation bodies, our Registered Massage Therapists are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. All of our student interns are clearly labeled and are completing graduate degrees in psychotherapy-related industries at recognized post-secondary institutions.
