About This Group:

Yoga nidra can be a deep meditation and relaxation that occurs lying down. It can activate our parasympathetic nervous system and bring the body into a physical and mental resting state.

For this class folks will be guided through different stages which can include a body scan, and noticing the breath. Yoga nidra brings the body close to what folks may experience when sleeping, while being curious. 

During this hour session we will have some check-ins, talk a little about yoga nidra, engage in some light yoga asana (movement) and then move into yoga nidra. When you sign up you will receive a list of  items that you can use to support your yoga nidra practice, which can be done in your bed or on the couch.

There is no prior experience needed in yoga to participate, and this group is open to participants anywhere in Ontario.

Nicole D’Souza

Nicole has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and was drawn to the connection it helped her build with her body. Nicole has been teaching yoga for over 3 years to children, youth, families, adults and seniors, and is looking forward to starting to offer yoga nidra to the GWTC community.
