About Michael
Hi, I’m Michael.
I am joining the GWTC team as a student therapist to complete my practicum in the Master of Arts Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. My path to becoming a psychotherapist has been shaped by years of experience as an outdoor educator and wilderness guide, which taught me the value of supportive relationships and creating a safe environment for self-exploration and personal growth. Now, I’m excited to apply these skills to support a broader population of clients, helping people navigate life’s challenges and build confidence in their strengths.
My approach is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, and my priority is always to create a non- judgmental environment where you feel heard and safe to express yourself. No two people are exactly alike, and my goal is to use evidence-based approaches that meet you where you’re at and connect with what makes you, you. We will work together to find new ways to look at challenges and harness your strengths to make meaningful change.
Note: Michael is currently a student intern. His work is supervised by Alex Kobayashi, MSW RSW.
