About Lisa
Pronouns: She / Her
Hello, my name is Lisa, and I am passionate about helping others improve their quality of life through psychotherapy. I love studying different therapy modalities, including the new wave of attachment-based, trauma-informed, and somatic approaches. I also have considerable experience volunteering in multiple psychotherapy research labs, as well as at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Distress Centres of Greater Toronto.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and am currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I have previously completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at York University, where I also pursued graduate studies in Historical, Theoretical, and Critical Psychology.
My approach includes a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), existential therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model (FSPM). As someone who enjoys writing, painting, photography, and has years of experience in stand-up and improv comedy, I strongly believe in the therapeutic power of art. I feel excited about incorporating arts-based therapy into work with clients who would like to merge their creative talents into their healing journey.
Note: Lisa is currently a student intern. Her work is supervised by Katherine Hall, MSW RSW.
