About Emma

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

I know how important it is that you find the right therapist to meet your needs, so let me introduce myself! I believe everyone has a story worth sharing, and sometimes they’re hard to talk about. Therapy provides a designated safe space to explore some of these uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, expose ineffective coping mechanisms, and work towards your definition of feeling “better”.

I collaborate with you to determine and express your therapeutic goals. You define what success looks like, and I will work with you to create a tangible, meaningful plan to achieve them. Are you looking for someone to understand your pain and explore past traumas? Or perhaps someone to identify potential areas for growth and hold you accountable? Both can be healing, it’s all about what you feel you need in each moment, and I can help you identify it. If you feel we may be a good fit, book a free 15 minute consultation with me today to learn more!

  • I have an Honors Specialization in psychology, a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and have undergone a number of additional trainings in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic Trauma Therapy, Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing. I am committed to continuing to develop my knowledge and understanding of the most up to date, evidence based approaches to psychotherapy, in an effort to provide my clients with the tools they need to cope with our ever changing world.

  • Couples and family therapy aren’t just for those going through a difficult time, it’s also for those who are anticipating major life changes, for those looking to strengthen their relationship, to develop more effective communication skills, or to better navigate stress and conflict as a team. In couples therapy, your relationship is the client, and we all work together to protect and strengthen it. I utilize evidence-based techniques to support you in exploring both the aspects of your relationship that aren’t working, as well as what is working, to provide a comprehensive overview of the factors contributing to discontentment. From there, we work to develop and implement better communication, conflict resolution and coping skills to use for when disagreements naturally arise. If you think this may be helpful for you, book a free 15-minute consultation with me today!
