About Egag
Pronouns: He/Him, They/Them
Thank you so much for visiting my page. I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, having received a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. I have worked with individuals from all walks of life who have endured various challenges and have had different expectations out of therapy. I have worked with people who needed some short-term support, long-term support and everything in between. When working with clients who have never been to therapy before, one of my goals in our work is to explore their understandings of therapy and therapists. Regardless of how long we work together, I feel it is important for me to impart on all clients their level of comfort with their therapist should always be a priority.

Two principles also guide my work as a therapist. First, I see my clients as the expert of their life, and view my role within the therapy journey as levering my professional knowledge to your benefit. Second, recovery is rarely a linear process, and the unpredictable nature of life can influence it. I seek to normalize the complexity of life, encourage self-compassion, and affirm the glimmers of your strengths and resiliency that come up when talking about the past, and over the duration of our work. These principles are critical to the maintenance of a therapeutic alliance that is respectful of your intersecting identities, and safely invites you to make explicit any thoughts, emotions, and feelings that are critical to understanding how I can best be of help.
I ground my practice in social constructivism, and I draw from a diverse range of interventions, from Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and psychodynamic orientations. I have received training and supervision and continue to pursue training in several CBT and psychodynamic orientated interventions and structured therapy models to treat trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I would be more than happy to discuss what you hope to get out of therapy. If you are interested in connecting further, please click below to book a free consultation with me.
